e-logurba
Last-mile management is at the heart of sustainable cities!
What is the e-logurba project?
The number of logistics actors operating in an isolated and uncoordinated way is a growing problem in metropolises. In 2021, the city of Montpellier has decided to act with the ambition of improving the quality of life of its inhabitants and limiting the impact of urban logistics on the environment.
Up to 50% of CO2 emissions are due to last-mile delivery.
Urban logistics is also responsible for about 70% of fine particle emissions.
The environmental challenge
This project helps territories with ecological transition and to reduce the flow of goods, pollution, and environmental footprint. The Occitanie metropolis has set itself an action plan in 6 stages for a period of 24 months to reverse the trend.

Expected results
As part of its “Smart City” project, the Metropolis of Montpellier plans to set up pollution sensors for each neighborhood (CO2, fine particles, Nox). This data will be accessible in OpenData and will allow the impact of the solution on the neighborhoods where the e-logurba services will be tested to be measured. The measurement of this impact will of course depend on the volume of traffic affected by the experiment. This project is in line with the logic of the ZFE zone in the Montpellier Metropolis, which started in 2018 with the ADEME.
