HUman at home projecT
IoT a for inhabitants!
What is the HUT project?
The HUman at home projecT is a project based on an experiment started in 2018, in a new residence in Montpellier. Movements, comfort, consumption, and interactions of the inhabitants with their environment were measured and interpreted for testing purposes.
What you need to know 💡
For this project, 13 research laboratories are involved, such as :

LIFAM : Laboratoire Innovation Formes Architectures Milieux
Social and environmental challenges
This project provides a better understanding of how humans appropriate ‘smart’ housing. In this way, we will be able to improve the quality of life, and facilitate the transition to sustainable innovations in the Smart Building and the Smart City, while taking into account ethical, l,egal and societal issues.
The main actors of this project
Expected results
The project aims to collect 5 main families of data produced by sensors and connected objects. They will be studied to assess their level of intrusion into the lives of users. The goal will be to determine how connected objects and the data they produce and collect can be intrusive and how to protect occupants from these abuses, but also to determine how to offer equipment that provides real services to occupants.
