Our Digital Responsibility commitments

Our commitments

To make the IoT a solution with a positive impact for mankind and a reasonable impact for the planet.

3 levers to be “Responsible Digital”.

Commitment

Reducing energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions by recycling and reusing terminals

Social

Digital accessibility through eco-designed tools that respect workers’ rights throughout the value chain.

Ethics

Governance and protection of organizations’ and users’ personal and sensitive data.

“In the digital sector, being responsible starts with software eco-design. In other words: how can we build products and services with a small footprint and limit energy consumption?”

Emmanuel MOUTON, CEO of Synox and SoFLEET.

The Responsible Digital label

A true benchmark in France, the Numérique Responsable label is based on a set of guidelines developed by the Institut du Numérique Responsable in partnership with the French Ministry of Ecological Transition, ADEME and WWF.

In 2023, we were awarded level 1 of the Responsible Digital label, testifying to our commitment to a positive and controlled impact of technology on the planet. This award demonstrates Synox’s commitment to a more regenerative, inclusive and ethical digital world.

In concrete terms? This translates into :

  • The creation and promotion of a Responsible Digital Charter for our employees and suppliers.
  • Integrate environmental impact into our commercial offers.
  • Give priority to repairing, reusing and recycling our equipment.
  • Develop skills in digital responsibility with targeted training, providing access to NR training and certification for our employees.
  • Reduce the use of resources in our IT infrastructures.
  • The introduction of eco-driving, car-sharing and the rental of hybrid and electric vehicles.

Our subsidiaries, SoFLEET and Synox Iberica, also embody this commitment:

  • SoFLEET optimizes fleet management and supports all fleet managers in implementing eco-driving with a fun, dedicated application.
  • While Synox Iberica focuses on deploying our IoT solutions for smart territories, energy performance and connected transport on the Iberian peninsula.

Synox achieves NR level 1 certification

Our CTO explains it all! ▶️

We are aware that digital technology is having an ever-greater impact on the use of the planet’s resources. That’s why we’re in the process of obtaining certification for INR’s Responsible Digital. Our goal for 2023 was to achieve Level 1 by the end of the year, and we’ve done just that!

What’s next? Level 2 by the end of 2025 💪

The Smart&Secure IoT label

It attests to our expertise in securing data from connected objects.
A key point of our commitments to our customers and partners.

Planet Tech’Care charter

Since summer 2022, we have formalized our responsible commitments by signing the Planet Tech’Care charter. As a result, we’ve joined an ecosystem of companies determined to shake things up and improve the impact of technology and the IoT on our environment.

Your questions about Responsible Digital

How do I get the Responsible Digital label?

A demanding, transparent approach

To obtain the label, an external audit commissioned by the LUCIE agency and carried out by BakerTilly, focused on 5 themes:

  • Governance and strategy
  • Training
  • Cross-functional approaches
  • Users users
  • Organization

Finally, an independent labeling committee made up of Green IT experts awarded the label after examining the auditor’s report and the commitments made by the Synox organization to progress over the next 3 years.

What is Synox's approach to digital responsibility?

We are aware that digital technology is having an ever-greater impact on the use of our planet’s resources, and even more so with the IoT. As a player in the digital sector, we have to make responsible choices, and this means not only eco-designing our solutions, but also raising the awareness of our internal and external ecosystems.

We drew up a clear, pragmatic roadmap, with targets and key indicators to measure our progress. Such as promoting responsible digital in our commercial offers, committing our employees to adopting responsible management of our equipment, encouraging and supporting the development of NR skills, by encouraging our employees to take the NR certification via the INR MOOC and to adopt responsible management of our IT infrastructures, in order to move towards decreasing the resources used.

“We want to commit ourselves in line with our values to deploying solutions that bring more to the planet than it will consume.”

Jérôme FENWICK, CTO of Synox
